Using the Keywords Feature

Using the Keywords feature

The Keywords section in Contentpen helps you discover, evaluate, and act on keyword opportunities based on your brand and content strategy. These keywords are suggested by AI using your Brand Knowledge Base and are designed to help you create content with strong SEO potential.

This guide explains what you’ll see on the Keywords screen and how to use it effectively.

Access the Keywords dashboard

From your workspace dashboard, open the Keywords section.

Here, you’ll find a list of AI-suggested keywords tailored to your brand, audience, and content pillars.

Keyword overview metrics

At the top of the screen, you’ll see a quick summary of your keyword opportunities:

  • High opportunity keywords

Keywords with a strong balance of volume and difficulty.

  • High volume keywords

Keywords with estimated monthly searches greater than 1,000.

  • Low difficulty keywords

Keywords with a difficulty score lower than 15, making them easier to rank for.

  • Starred keywords

Keywords you’ve saved for future use.

  • Articles generated

The number of articles already created from these keywords (if any).

These metrics help you quickly understand the overall SEO potential of your keyword list.

Understanding keyword details

Each keyword in the list includes important SEO data to help you decide what to write next.

  • Low – Easier to rank, less competition
  • Medium – Moderate competition
  • High – Highly competitive and harder to rank

Difficulty score

A numerical score (usually between 0–100) representing keyword competition. Higher scores mean higher difficulty.

  • T – Transactional (ready to buy)
  • N – Navigational (looking for a specific website)
  • B – Branded (searching for a brand or company)
