Using the Article wizard

The Article Wizard is where all content creation in Contentpen begins. It gives you multiple ways to create, improve, or manage articles depending on your workflow and goals.

This guide explains how to access the Article Wizard and what each option does.

Access the Article wizard

From your dashboard:

Click the Create Article button in the top-right corner

Choose one of the available article creation options

Each option is designed for a specific use case, from generating a full article to improving existing content.

Article wizard options

Generate article with AI (One-Shot Generation)

Create a complete, SEO-optimized article in a single step.

Best for: Quickly generating full blog posts

Output: Fully written article

Credit usage: 1× article (one article credit is used)

You provide the article details, and Contentpen handles the rest.

Generate Article in Two Steps (Two-Step Generation)

Create an article in two phases for more control.

• Step 1: Generate an outline for review
• Step 2: Approve the outline and generate the full article

Best for: Long-form or high-importance content

Credit usage: 1× article (outline + article combined)

No extra credits are charged for the outline step.

Refresh Existing Content (Content Refresh)

Improve an existing article using AI.

What it does:

• Improves SEO
• Fixes grammar and readability
• Updates outdated information

Best for: Optimizing older or underperforming articles

Credit usage: 0.75× to 1× article, depending on article length and complexity

You’ll see the exact credit usage before starting the refresh.

Add internal and external linking (Interlinking Assistant)

Automatically add relevant internal and external links to an existing article.

What it does:

• Adds contextual links without rewriting content
• Improves SEO and site structure

Best for: Enhancing already-written articles

Credit usage: 0.5× article (half an article credit)\

Start blank (Blank Canvas)

Begin with an empty editor and write content manually.

What it does: Opens a blank editor with no AI generation

Best for: Full creative control or manual writing

Credit usage: Free

No credits are used unless you later apply AI features.

After selecting an option, you’ll be guided through the specific steps for that module. Each Article Wizard option has its own settings and workflow.
